General Information:

Marshall Christian Academy  opened in August 2006 with Kindergarten thru 4th grade. At least one grade and possibly more per year will be added until the Academy reaches the 12th grade.  The facility has 16 new classrooms, a gym, lunchroom, and a large outside baseball field/play area.  Classrooms are wired to have computers, phones, and television.  Plans for future growth and construction are already being considered.

Curriculum:

The Academy will target the average to above-average students and will use the ABeka curriculum and will match the scope and sequence to state guidelines.  Unlike other curriculums, ABeka has reading lessons and instructions using the Bible as a reading source.  The curriculum will be evaluated each year to see if parts of other known curriculums might be incorporated in certain subject lessons to strengthen the overall curriculum.  Bible lessons, pledge of allegiance to the flag, and prayer will be done daily and the Academy will have weekly chapel which will last about thirty minutes and is planned for each Friday morning.

For more information about the ABeka curriculum you can visit the school to see first hand the books and projects the students are working on.

Accreditations:

Marshall Christian Academy is now officially in candidacy status for accreditation by ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) which has a reciprocal agreement with SACS/CASI.  For more information about this go to  www.acsi.org

Marshall Christian Academy strives to effectively educate children with the mind of Christ. With this students will be prepared for life because Christ, possesses “all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3). The life and mind of Christ is nurtured in the lives of students through faculty and staff that exemplifies relationships and who recognize that reconciling the heart and mind to God is the foundation of their work.

Discipline:

High student expectations will be held for both academics and classroom discipline.  Only students that the Academy can serve will be accepted.  Students will not be allowed to disrupt the educational process.  Parents of disruptive students will be given an opportunity to help correct the problem.  Students that continue disrupting the class will be dismissed from the Academy.  The failure of parents to help correct disciplinary problems could result in the dismissal of the student.
